Psychotherapy & Wellbeing enabled by Arts

Hello and welcome to HeART of the Matter,

I want to support you if you're struggling with issues that are impacting your mental wellbeing. Maybe you're going through a difficult stage in life - maybe someone has died; maybe someone has left you; maybe you're experiencing burnout at work or you feel lost now you've retired...whatever is going on for you, you don't have to struggle alone.

As a qualified Integrative Arts Psychotherapist I offer counselling sessions for individuals - a confidential way to explore and share difficult feelings.

So why arts and creative expression, what does that have to do with mental health? Research shows us that creative expression is important in finding new ways to process experiences and build self-esteem. A picture or metaphor can hold safely what feels difficult to explain. Alongside talking, art enables your story to be seen and witnessed by me. Working at a safe pace we explore the heart of the matter.

If you'd like therapy, contact me to book a free 15 minute consultation.

I offer in-person psychotherapy at my practice in Chichester or online sessions.

Musings of a Psychotherapist - Blog

Why I choose to blog like this … I am a qualified, HCPC & UKCP registered integrative arts psychotherapist, working with adults to explore the challenges of life, difficult feelings and troubling reactions ... I want to give you an insight into how I work.

I have sat down many times to write ‘the article’ something that is logical, research based, somewhat impressive to tell you about psychotherapy and mental health issues.  I can do that, I mean I have written many essays and dissertations and reports.  But the resistance in me rises up as I try, the procrastination is beast-like. So, I wonder, is there a different way to write - one more authentic to my voice?  Suddenly it all came into focus, I could see the words pouring out of me. I could write, no longer encumbered by the confines of an article.

So, here are the words; the ‘musings of a psychotherapist’ – no less important than the helpful article you will find on other sites, but more from my heART than the ‘article writing’ part of myself.
